It wasn't a good day for the Algoma University Thunderbirds varsity basketball teams.

The St. Mary's Knights made it a perfect two-for-two.

Things just have not been going the right way for the Soo Greyhounds of late. After returning home from an 0-3 road trip, the Greyhounds dropped a tough 2-1 decision at the hands of the Saginaw Spirit on Wednesday night at Memorial Gardens.

Sault Ste. Marie native Ron Francis will have his number retired by the Carolina Hurricanes in January. Francis retired as the fourth leading scorer in National Hockey League history and second all-time in assists.
