Montreal Canadiens forward Phillip Danault was released from hospital Sunday morning after undergoing medical tests for a head injury. He was taken off the ice on a stretcher Saturday night after he was hit in the head by a Zdeno Chara point shot.

CHICAGO — Tyler Bertuzzi made a big play in front of the net and Dominic Turgeon contributed on the penalty kill. A couple of familiar names helped the Detroit Red Wings to a nice road win.

CALGARY — The Calgary Flames placed forward Jaromir Jagr on injured reserve Sunday and recalled forward Ryan Lomberg from the American Hockey League's Stockton Heat. Jagr has a lower-body injury. The move was retroactive to Dec. 31.

NEW YORK — Mathew Barzal was terrific and Jaroslav Halak stepped up at a couple of key moments. It was the Islanders' day again in New York.

LOS ANGELES — The latest Freeway Faceoff wasn't even three minutes old when the Anaheim Ducks and the Los Angeles Kings dropped the gloves. They did it again on the ensuing faceoff — and again on the faceoff after that.

LAS VEGAS — The Edmonton Oilers have done something no other NHL team has this season: beat the Vegas Golden Knights twice. Darnell Nurse scored 55 seconds into overtime to lift the Oilers past Vegas 3-2 on Saturday night.

MONTREAL — Brad Marchand and the Boston Bruins forced overtime and then won in a shootout in their first game against their former coach — Claude Julien of rival the Montreal Canadiens.
