FATAL MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION (WHITE RIVER) – On July 9, 2009 at approximately 11:30 pm a 1979 Ford Fairmont was travelling southbound on Highway 17, Vasiloff Township approximately 20 kilometres south of White River.

THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLE NETS CHARGES (Thessalon, ON.) – On June 28, 2009, the East Algoma Thessalon OPP received a complaint regarding motor vehicles being entered and items stolen.

MISSING PERSON LOCATED (Blind River, ON.) – On July 6 2009 police reported a missing person, George Jeffrey FOLZ from the Blind River area. Family members had not heard from him and became concerned.

ROOMMATE CHARGED (Elliot Lake, Ontario) On July 3, 2009 at approximately 10:12 p.m. officers of the East Algoma OPP attended a residence on Spruce Avenue in Elliot Lake regarding a possible assault.

STUNT DRIVING (WAWA) – On July 1, 2009 at 1:30 pm officers had occasion to stop a southbound Toyota Tundra on Highway 17 approximately 10 kilometres north of Wawa in Bailloquet Township.

HIGHWAY 17 RE-OPENED AFTER MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION (Blind River, ON.) – On July 3, 2009 shortly after 3:00 p.m. the East Algoma OPP responded to a Motor Vehicle Collision on Highway 17, approximately 2 kilometres west of Blind River, Ontario.

“UPDATE” - ONE LANE OF HIGHWAY 17 NEAR BLIND RIVER OPENED (Blind River, ON.) – At 3:50 p.m. one lane of Highway 17, 2 kilometres west of Blind River has been re-opened to traffic.
