TRAILER FIRE The O.P.P. investigated a fire at a residence at the Beaumont Trailer Park in Aweres Township. The Aweres Volunteer Fire Department was able to extinguish a chimney fire. No injuries were reported and damage to the structure was minimal.

FAST POLICE WORK SOLVES THEFT On Tuesday, a wallet with credit cards was stolen from a car parked at a church in Spragge. The owner quickly cancelled the cards after learning they had been stolen.

SUSPECT SOUGHT AFTER ASSUALT ON WOMAN Goulais River, Ont., A Goulais River woman fled her house last night after being assaulted by a man in the same house. At about 10:00 p.m., the woman arrived at the house with her two children.

STOLEN TIMBER Echo Bay, Ont., Someone has illegally removed two hundred acres of timber from the Haversack Lake area north of Echo Bay. Sault Ste Marie OPP were called to the Haversack Lake area in Kehoe Twp north of Echo Bay yesterday.
