In an RV.... Seeing the country and staying distanced at the same time.

Same, I did some crown land camping over the past summer and fall. Still feels surreal to travel without ever interacting with another human being.

Too many ads on this site

Annoying for sure when you are trying to read something.

Yes, it is annoying when the page jumps up and down to accomodate ads. This is a free site so ads pay its' way, but making people angry with moving page displays in unnecessary, an ad that is stationary would suffice.
Ever notice that on the weekend you may only get 2 to 4 new entries all day.
I wonder if the bulk of any news goes to the Paid Soo Today plus site?
Wonder how many bit for the paid site?
As for the bouncing ads, I will not buy from these advertisers.

The alternative is they start putting every story behind a paywall

I'm hopeful to maybe venture to sudbury in late fall but even that's a huge stretch. Maybe next year will be better.

A friend of mine in Alberta got his Covid shot last Tuesday. He and I are the same age (75). Given that I appear to be in the can't organize a two car parade capital of Canada, I don't expect travel to be anything more than a fantasy for a long time.

Alberta's demographics are different than Ontario's. There are many more 75 year olds here (per capita) than in Alberta. That is why your friend is eligible before you are. We will get there soon!

I know, I know..... but I miss cross boarder shopping. Applebee’s has the best French onion soup. Cheap animal food, I used to pay $20/bag and now it’s $80! West branch, birch run.... shop local I know, but there’s nothing here! And taco bell over there is so much better. I’m sure their stores like Meijer's that opened with us shopping in mind must be hurting in such a small town and we can’t get a Costco.

The way they put the adds is just wanting me to use the site less every day. It is terrible even in the obits you can’t read it moves all the time. What a wast of time.

The USA will quickly surpass most countries in a couple of months, in terms of vaccinations. They’re doing 2 million shots a day. You barely need 25% or so, to receive these shots before you’ll start to see the virus disappear so I suspect the situation will improve there imminently. This makes the border closure increasingly irrelevant.
