Police allege he was caught with items stolen from downtown vehicles

At 4:35 p.m. on August 22, 2016 city police arrested 52-year-old James Lloyd Laplante of Albert Street West. It’s alleged that the accused failed to show to the John Howard Society as directed on his recognizance of bail.

At 6:50 p.m. on August 21, 2016 city police arrested 46-year-old Stephen Hilb of Goulais Avenue. Hilb turned himself in regarding outstanding arrest warrants.

On August 21 at 6 a.m., a female resident in the 700 block of Second Line West awoke to find an unidentified male in her bedroom

52-year-old man faces serious charges after public complaint

A break in was reported to a residence in the 300 block of Bush Street which occurred sometime between Aug. 16 and 17. Three flatscreen TVs and a laptop were reported stolen.

Two adults fled

On August 15, 2016 at approximately 2:20 a.m. the Sault Ste. Marie police were called to the area of Breton Road for a male causing a disturbance.

While on routine patrol early this morning, a city police officer observed a vehicle proceeding northbound on Peoples Road in the area of Hillside Drive driving in an erratic manner, allegedly swaying from the centre line to the curb several times.
