The Sault Ste. Marie Police is currently investigating a shooting incident which occurred overnight in the west part of the city. On arrival police found two males that were both suffering gunshot wounds.

At 2:50 a.m., City Police were called to a west end convenience store regarding a disturbance in the parking lot. Officers determined that a male in the store was causing a disturbance.

Friday, July 24, 2015

On the 24th July 2015 at 8:10 a.m. City Police arrested a 73-year-old male of Sault Ste. Marie on an outstanding domestic related arrest warrant. It’s alleged that the male assaulted and threatened his wife on July 16, 2015.

On July 23, 2015 at approximately 7:16 a.m. city police responded to the area of Sutton Place regarding a possible impaired driver. On attending it is alleged that officers found a male subject behind the wheel of a vehicle, with the engine running.

On July 10, 2015, at approximately 7:30 p.m. the accused Dayna Johnston age 34 is alleged to have assaulted the victim by punching the victim. This happened at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre. On July 12, 2015, at approximately 7:30 a.m.

A converted black Norco E-Bike was reported stolen from the 300 block of Dacey Rd. this afternoon. A garage in the south end of Elmwood Ave. was broken into last night. Alcohol, food, clothing and a radio were reported stolen.

At 3:25 p.m. on July 18, 2015 city police attended Rome’s on Great Northern Rd regarding a shoplifter. 28-year-old Amanda Neyland of Waabung st Sault Ste Marie was arrested and charged with theft under $5000.

On July 18, 2015, at 3:00 p.m., City Police and the Fire Dept. attended at the Gros Cap marina regarding a boat fire. After launching his boat, the owner attempted to start it and it became engulfed in flames. The boat was destroyed.

Friday, July 17, 2015

On July 16, 2015, a break and enter was reported to a residence in the 100 block of Fairview Avenue. Suspects entered the residence and rummaged through all the rooms and furniture.

At 12:15 p.m. city police arrested and charged a 33-year-old male with mischief to property under $5,000 while being held at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre. It’s alleged that the inmate smashed a window inside the holding facility.
