Domestic Related Arrests for Bail Court Appearance this Morning: A 41 year-old male was arrested on the 14th of January at 4:25 am at his residence and charged with two counts of assault.

The following three persons were arrested on outstanding warrants: 1) Lisa Mortari, age 29, of #303-136 Bay Street in Hamilton Ontario was arrested on the 12th of January at 2:55 pm at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre on outstanding warrants.

Possible Tainted Halloween Candy Investigation Concluded Earlier Release from the 1st of November, 2008 The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service is conducting an investigation into possible tainted Halloween candy.

UPDATED HOMICIDE RELEASE The post mortem on murder victim Joseph Reed was completed on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 in Sudbury. The Sault Ste Marie Police are waiting for the coroner’s final report on the specific cause of death.

Child Pornography Arrests Beginning in October 2008, officers from the Sault Ste Marie Police Services Technological Crime Unit have undertaken a proactive investigation into persons possessing and distributing child pornography.

Male Charged with Murder The Sault Ste Marie Police Service has a 20 year-old male in custody this morning charged with murder. Shortly after 2 am city police received information of a deceased male at a centrally located apartment.

The following four persons are to appear in bail court this morning: 1) 34 year-old Andrew Jackson of no fixed address was arrested on the 3rd of January at 10:10 pm at an apartment on Pine Street and charged with one count of assault with a weapon,

ROBBERY Just before 6pm yesterday evening City Police received a 9-1-1 call regarding a robbery that had just occurred at Rexall Pharmacy located at 612 Second Line West.
