TORCH RUN THIS AFTERNOON Starting a 4:30 pm today the public will see a number of the local law enforcement officers participating in the Annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics, sponsored by the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police.

CARELESS DRIVING CHARGE On the 6th of June City Police attended in the 400 block of Lake Street regarding a motor vehicle collision.

City Police had a very quiet night last night. There were no incidents, and no arrests after 8pm.

IMPAIRED DRIVING The Sault City Police Service had a fairly quiet night last night. Wayne Greco, age 20, of 7 Kerr Drive was arrested and charged with impaired driving and failure to provide a breath sample. He will appear in court on July 5.

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service has received a complaint that while an elementary school student was making her way home a suspicious vehicle, with 2 male occupants attempted to persuade the student into their vehicle.

LOTS OF CHARGES: 37-year-old Sean McLarty of 41 Wilcox Avenue will appear in court on July 5th on a number of offences. McLarty is charged with mischief, threatening death, assault with a weapon and driving while prohibited.

ACCIDENT VICTIMS TO HOSPITAL: 20-year-old Andreanne Potvin of La Baie, Quebec was charged under the Highway Traffic Act for disobeying a stop sign at the intersection of Churchill Blvd and Queen St E.

THIRSTY THEIVES 2 downtown businesses reported break-ins to vending machines at Western Tire and Advanced Transmission on Queen St East. Sometime overnight pop machines were entered and a quantity of pop and coins were removed.
