Yesterday News Release: Last evening the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service was advised that 51-year old Anita Proulx of Carufel Avenue passed away on January 3rd due to injuries received in a motor vehicle collision on November 25th, 2005.

Domestic Related Arrests A 50-year old male was arrested on December 31st and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that the accused assaulted his common-law wife by grabbing her arm and squeezing it during a verbal argument.

Thefts From Vehicles Yesterday City Police received 11 complaints of thefts from vehicles. These thefts occurred on the evening of the 27th and the early morning hours of the 28th of December.

Robbery On the 23rd of December a Robbery took place at the Esso Gas Bar at 3 Trunk Road.

Robbery at Local Gas Bar At approx. 12:55 AM this morning a lone male entered the Esso Gas Bar located at Trunk Rd and Wellington St. and demanded money and cigarettes from the clerk. The suspect then fled the store going west towards Elizabeth St.

Break and Enters The Sault Ste Marie City Police are investigating several theft reports from the west end. It is believed that the thefts took place late Tuesday night to early Wednesday morning.
