City Police Beat

City police had a rather quiet twenty-four hour period with just one arrest. One person was charged with impaired driving following a single-vehicle accident on Fifth Line at Great Northern Road.

City Police had a very quiet night last night. Officers observed a van parked on Goulais Avenue. When they investigated, they found 34-year-old Stephanie Bean of Desbarats behind the wheel.

BAIL COURT HEARINGS 2 males will appear in Bail Court this morning as a result of incidents reported yesterday and early this morning.

IMPAIRED DRIVING CHARGE A motor vehicle accident this morning at 12:55 a.m. resulted in an impaired driving charge.

SCHOOL BUS BUMPED There was a motor vehicle collision yesterday morning at 9:30 a.m. involving a school bus. The school bus was stopped to pick up students in the 400 block of Wellington Street East when a car slid into the rear of the bus.

R.I.D.E RESULTS FOR 2003 The Traffic Unit of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service reports the following R.I.D.E. statistics for 2003: Vehicles checked- 5600, Roadside tests- 100, 12 Hr.

BREAK & ENTERS The Sault Ste Marie Police Service is investigating two Break and Enters from over the weekend. The first, of the New Year, occurred on Jan 2nd at the Canadian Bearings Stop at 285 Wilson St.
