IMPAIRED CHARGE Yesterday at 4:30 pm, Sean McLarty, age 35 of 124 Letcher St. allegedly operated a motor vehicle, a blue, unplated 1989 Ford F150, while his ability to do so was impaired by alcohol.

The Sault Police Service's R.I.D.E. program was in operation on Friday night. There were 515 vehicles checked, 17 roadside tests were administered resulting in seven 12-hour suspensions. No impaired charged were laid.

ACCIDENT SENDS TWO TO HOSPITAL City police had a fairly quiet night last night. One accident on Pine Street sent two people to hospital with minor injuries.

City police were kept busy overnight with liquor-related offences. Several people were arrested for being intoxicated in a public place. There were no serious accidents or injuries. Police will have a more detailed report on Monday morning.

MANY VEHICLE COLLISIONS The city police service reports that there were over 20 motor vehicle collisions yesterday. The warm daytime temperatures melted the snow only to have it freeze and turn to ice later in the day. There were no serious injuries.
