(July 6, 1937-December 24, 2015)
Given the name Marguerite by her parents Helen and Steve, she was known as Sister for her formative years and many years after especially by her extended family. She was athletic and musical and brought all her talents and passion to teaching piano, Brownies and regular old school in special ways. With unmatched grace and sometimes necessary humour, she was a special friend to the many her children brought through the family home, including the ones who became part of the family.
Margaret, lovingly known as Maggie later in life, became a great story teller and holder of numerous family memories which she passed on to all of us who would listen, learn and remember. She loved books, writing, decorating and making holidays special.
Her garden is a wonderful place to be. She transformed the Grandriver backyard from a muddy boy’s playground to a story book setting and in that you will see some of the strength, music, storybook and magic that she created for those around her.
Always to be remembered with love and awe.
The family invites you to join a celebration of life on June 25, 2016 between the hours of 11am and 1 pm at The Tech 130 Wellington Street East. Internment in Port Findlay Cemetery will follow. The family welcomes memorial donations to Algoma Community Residential Hospice (ARCH).
