City police had a fairly routine night last night. One young offender was arrested yesterday afternoon at 4:00 after his mother called in a complaint. The 15-year-old had smashed her TV set by pushing it off a shelf.

BREAK & ENTERS At approx. 12:05 a.m. yesterday, City Police were called to the Bawating Quik Mart in regards to an alarm. Upon arrival officers discovered that the store had been broken into and that an unknown quantity of cigarettes was stolen.

The Sault Ste Marie Police Service responded to approx. 90 complaints yesterday – most were of a minor nature. DOMESTIC ASSAULT At approx. 1:00 AM this morning City Police were called to investigate a domestic dispute on Cathcart Street.

WEATHER CAUSES HAVOC The return of winter, yesterday, kept the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service busy investigating 17 motor vehicle collisions. Two of the accidents resulted in minor injuries, while the remainder were property damage.

FIGHT LEADS TO ASSAULT CHARGES Yesterday at approximately 2:30 a.m., City Police received a call about a fight on Peoples Road. Upon arrival, police observed the victim had several injuries consisting of a black eye, bloody nose and lip.

City police had an interesting night last night. CITIZEN FOLLOWS SUSPICIOUS CAR Two males, Shane Young, age 24 of Searchmont and Lorne Beaird, age 21 of 765 Cooper Street have been charged with assaulting another male last evening.

City police had a fairly busy night last night. This morning there were 12 people in custody, many for liquor and domestic disturbance offences. BREAK & ENTER There was a break and enter at Beaver Gas on Korah Road at 2:00 a.m. today.
