THREE CHURCHES BROKEN INTO City police report three break and enters at downtown churches this morning. St. Likes Cathedral, Central United, and Westminster churches were all broken into and items such as TVs and VCRs were stolen.

CAR-PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT City police investigated a pedestrian - vehicle accident at 10:38 yesterday morning at the intersection of Gore and Bay Streets. A vehicle travelling south on Andrew Street struck a pedestrian who was crossing Bay Street.

City police are investigating two robberies that occurred yesterday. The first took place in the men's washroom at Sears in the Station Mall at about 9:55 a.m. The victim, a 65-year-old male, was attacked upon entering the washroom.

YOUTH TURNS HIMSELF IN TO POLICE City police have charged two males with theft and possession of stolen property under $5,000.

HOUSE BURNS At 9:30 a.m. yesterday, police were called to a house fire in the 100 block of Beech Street. The fire was promptly extinguished by the fire department. There was extensive damage to the older home.

The past twenty-four hours have been fairly quiet for the City Police Service. There were nineteen vehicle accidents over the weekend. One sent the occupants to hospital. Charged with failing to stop for a red light is Raymond St.

HIT AND RUN ACCIDENT Yesterday afternoon at 1:55, the City Police Service was called by a citizen on a cell phone. The caller had witnessed a hit-and-run accident and was following the vehicle that had left the scene.

City Police picked up a couple of drunks for a free night's lodging in the cells. Other than that it was a very quiet 24-hour period.
