Welcome back to Trillium Talk, your must-see briefing from Village Media’s team of journalists at the Ontario Legislature.
Every Sunday morning, Scott Sexsmith sits down with one of our staffers at The Trillium to talk about the week that was at Queen's Park — and the week ahead.
On the show today is reporter Charlie Pinkerton, who explains why one of Premier Doug Ford's former assistants was found to have violated Ontario's lobbying law. (Spoiler alert: the story involves Maple Leafs tickets being offered to government officials.)
Pinkerton also talks tariffs — and what Ontario cabinet minister Caroline Mulroney had to say about Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre.

Good on Caroline Mulroney for supporting Pierre Poilievre. Never before has it been more important to support the candidate that will put the every day Canadian worker first. Carney only cares about enriching the 1%. He views the Canadian worker as a tool at the disposal of wealthy. He's a snake in grass. Don't be fooled by the media's Trump obsession.

Now that Trump's tariff snowstorm is done, maybe we can get back to what really matters to Canadians. We need to make sure that Canada has a diversity of trading partners in the future and get investments from friendly countries to develop our resources. Bill C69 (no pipelines) has to be repealed.

Finally Doug Ford comes in albit through the back door, but it’s a huge endorsement for P P, lets hope that more politicians of note start getting on board as well,,
Go Pierre Go
Opik, the majority of Canadians would agree with you, but, last time I looked, too many Canadians are going goo goo for this insufferable, nauseating, self righteous mark carney. And carney will carry on with justin trudeau’s no more pipeline disaster that will continue to cripple this once proud country.
carney, who’s more concerned about giving the left wing CBC an additional $150 million tax dollars, on top of the $1.4 Billion the CBC already gets.
I just don’t get how Canadians get kicked in the groin for 10 years & now, want more of the same from this part time Canadian with 3 passports who spent the last 10 years living in another country.
I could go on but what’s the point !!! Good luck !!!

His tariff tantrum is not done. You know he changes his mind on a dime.
To think that he is done with them is to believe in fairies.

I don’t believe the storm is over. He is not done by a long shot and still wants Canada. Government can’t let their guard down!

the polls still don't favour the conservatives , Grouchy , they still show a majority liberal government .

I'm sure Trump will be delighted to hear this....

Oh the irony, open your eyes 👀 and think about the future instead of emotionally casting a vote.
Four more years of throwing billions of dollars at bad policies, the worst one is letting the liberals run the construction of thousands of homes,,
What could go wrong with that ?
People with zero experience in the construction field at the helm filling their friends pockets !
We are all aware of what happened in the last decade, do we really want to go back ?
Hilarious Grouchy, Pierre has construction experience?! Guy has probably never had dirty hands in his life. Spoiler alert, the conservatives will line their friends pockets well before the working class citizens.

we need to start shipping liquefied natural gas and oil to the east and west coasts for shipment to Asia and Europe and beyond . eliminate the USA as a trading partner while we are at it .
Trump....Ford....PP....all cut from the same cloth. BEWARE!!
Oh please, this is such a tired argument. Anyone who still claims PP is like Trump is just speaking out of emotion and feelings and not facts. All you have to do is go watch a 10 minute speech or interview with Polievre and then do the same with Trump and you will very easily see how they are in no way similar. Maybe watch something else besides CBC News
Sudbury.com
Please give us all a break from the fear-mongering. PP is nothing like Trump and you know it.
That's the only thing desperate liberals have to use?

More than anything, we need the WEF out of Canada. The WEF is behind global insecurity, pillaging governments around the world for decades. They are the leaders behind the deep state. That truth is hush hush. We need our own independence and stop relying on foreign individuals interfering.

We know Mulroney wants to run federally sooooo. Sad that she endorsed someone who is anti woman’s rightd
This is the most misleading headline. He didn't say anything about endorsing anything. He was asked if Mulroney asked his permission to endorse him and he said “Caroline called me — I think the world of Caroline, by the way, she does an incredible job as President of the Treasury — and asked me,” the premier said at Queen’s Park. “And that’s up to Caroline, and good for her and everyone else. But we need to focus on our job.”

I can remember when Doug Ford was a Conservative!

Why don't you ask Marit Styles or Bonnie Crombie if they think he's a conservative?
Just nonsense.

Pathetic, I expected better of her.
