Fire Investigation The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service continues its investigation into a fire that occurred on Tuesday night in the 100 block of Capp Avenue. The residence was a vacant however a mattress in the home had been set on fire.

Suspicious Fire Last evening around 7:20 pm City Police and Fire Services were called to a house fire in the 100 block of Capp Avenue. The residence is a vacant home and damage was minimal. The fire has been deemed suspicious.

Reminder Tonight the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service, in conjunction with the Holiday Inn, will honour those members of the public, businesses and organizations that have assisted the Police Service in 2004.

Male Charged with Assault A 44-year old male will appear in bail court this morning after being arrested shortly after 3 am on the 19th of February.

Out-of-towner charged with using cell phone as weapon A 22-year-old Michigan man has been charged with assault with a weapon after a domestic dispute early this morning at Algoma's Water Tower Inn.

Fatal Fire Members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service remain at the scene of a fatal fire that occurred in the 500 block of Albert Street West late last evening.

Male Charged with Breach of Release Document It is alleged that last night around 11:30 pm a 42-year old male attended at his ex-wife’s place of employment in the downtown area.

A Reminder about School Buses The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service would like to remind motorists that they must stop when a school bus has stopped and it’s red signal lights are activated.

Motor Vehicle Collision with Injuries In the last 24-hour period City Police investigated 11 motor vehicle collisions. One of them involved injuries.

Reminder With today’s winter storm watch in effect the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service would like to remind motorists to slow down and adjust their driving habits to the road conditions.
