City police have had a fairly quiet twenty-four hours with only one accident and no break and enters to report. Yesterday morning at 10:40, an accident at the intersection of Blake and Chaplain Streets sent one motorist to hospital.

BUSINESSES BROKEN INTO There were two break and enters reported to businesses at 129 Second Line West yesterday. Entered were the U-Scoop Store and The Teachers Helper. In both incidents the locks were spun out of the doors.

MR. SUB ROBBED Yesterday at 10:20 p.m. there was a robbery at the Mr. Sub shop at 41 Great Northern Road. A lone male entered the store and demanded money from the clerk. He was given a small amount of cash before he left the shop.

NO IMPAIRED DRIVERS The RIDE program was out on Friday night. Officers checked 556 vehicles and issued 2 twelve-hour suspensions. No charges were laid as a result of the vehicle checks.

The Sault Police Service made several arrests overnight although details will not be available until tomorrow (Tues) at 7:30 a.m.

City Police area being blessed with a quiet holiday weekend… so far! There have been no accidents or injuries. No bears have been sighted inside the city. Only two persons were arrested last night for being intoxicated in a public place.

POLICE CATCH YOUNG THIEF Yesterday at 10:55 a.m., patrol officers arrested a 17-year-old male young offender who had been entering businesses and stealing personal property from private offices.

YOUNG OFFENER ASSAULT Yesterday at 6:00 p.m., a 14-year-old female young offender assaulted another female at a residence on Wellington St. West. The young offender assaulted the victim by pushing her and slapping her in the face.
