The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League crowned their playoff champion on Tuesday night at Big Bear Arena in the Michigan Sault as the North Bay Skyhawks captured their third straight title with a 4-2 victory over the Northern Michigan Black Bears.

Sports Gold and Root River emerged with victories on Sunday in Algoma Basketball Association girls spring league action at Bawating. Sports Gold used 18 points from Jessica King and 15 from Stella Viotto in a 56-48 win over Primo Pizza.
